                  ponds South of Lake Balaton in Hungary.
15-Apr -  1st Red-necked Stint (Calidris ruficollis) for Israel discovered at Eilat's North sewage pools.
04-Apr -  A (probable first-summer) male Chaffinch (Fringilla coelebs africana / spodiogenys), found at Westplaat south of
                 Maasvlakte, west of Rotterdam (Zuid-Holland) . This could be a first for the Netherlands, since a sound-recorded
                 female that was briefly seen at  Eemshaven (Groningen) in Apr 1999 has not been accepted (yet).
21-Mar - 1st American Scoter (Melanitta nigra americana) for Denmark, found at Blavands Huk, Jylland.
31-Jan - The BOU Records Committee has added Ascension Frigatebird (Fregata aquila) to Category A of the British List
                 after it was mis-identified as a Magnificent Frigatebird (Fregata magnificens) in Scotland in July 1953.
  Magnificent Frigatebird has been removed from the British List as there are no other records.
20-Jan - 1st MacQueen's Bustard (Chlamydotis macqueenii) for Belgium found exhausted at Nieuwpoort.
09-Jan - 1st Canvasback (Aythya valisineria) if accepted, for the Netherlands, at Castricum.
